4 years as a student in college went so well and flew so fast. This will be one part of my life to improve and brighten me on my way and my future job dream. On 19th October 2020, my teammate and I did a thesis defense presentation in the title of ADHOC Women's Rights Protection on Rape and Domestic Violence in Siem Reap. 6 months to research on this topic was so hard and, everyone tried our best to make it happen. Many times to correct what we had researched, many times the committees have given feedback, and we tried to follow and learn about the mistake to get better. Everyone presented very well and answered all committees' questions with confidence. I am so proud of my team that worked hard with this together. As a team leader, I am very proud of myself to lead this group. Eventually, I would like to say thank you to my parents, my family that always support me and motivate me all the time. To PEPY family who supports, and motivates me to continue my higher education and lighted me to see me who I am today. For my gentlemen and Princess Robert and Robin, who gives me and all PEPY students, a beautiful warm heard. However, I would love to say thank you to my professor that leads my team until completely done. For my teammates, I am very appreciated everyone's hard work. 3rd-4th October-2020 was a wonderful time in my life to have a trip with my family to 1500 mountain (1500 is the mountain name) at Pursat Province. It was my first time that I have time to go with my family together to long-distance. Veal Veng is one District in Po Sat Province along on the Kravanh mountain range. It was such breathtaking views along the way to the top of the mountain. Everyone is so enjoyable with the fantastic natural beauty like the waterfall, green jungle, 2nd highest mountain in Cambodia, and super fresh weather. My parents said that their first time in their life to see such a great time like this. My auties said they never think they can see such a beautiful place like this and they feel so much happy with this. Eventually, we came back home with a smile and keep our memories of this trip to be memorable. From 2019 to 2020 my family condition getting better because my sister is now working in one small NGO call Camboo Project Organization and she could afford her daily expend, so it helps my family to save more expend. It was not easy to management with my family condition in the past but my family and have to tranform ourselves to get a better life. I usually go to visit my parents and 1 time every month and sometimes every 2 months. My parents are my hero and heroine because they always ask me every day about my works, my health, and how my life going like that. My youngest brother is grade 5 in primary school now and he is so brave. To my beautiful grandma is living alone in my hometown because everyone goes to work for a while during COVID-19 and I miss her so much, so that why I always go to visit her every week. My nephew is currently studying in grade 12 and she will take the national high school diploma exam in August, so I wish her to succeed. We are now can see more bright and see the world is bigger. I never forget my dad and mam words "Son! our family are a poor construction worker if you want to get the better life you have to study hard and we will give you our life" After busy with many works, all PEPY staff went to Koh Kong Province on retreat. I felt fresh and closer to my teammate. Everyone enjoy a lot with this trip and we also worked and learn from this opportunity as well. I would like to say thanks to PEPY and the team from this retreat, 4 days in Koh Kong. We will continue our work and our mission to reach our goal. It was an amazing trip and we felt like closer now. These are some photos of the retreat. Photographer Manin OEM On 25th August 2019 at Unversity of South-East Asia, I have joined one competition call Right to a Fair Trial. The competition wants Cambodia students to know more about right especially on arrested. To join this competition I trained by the professor from Raoul Wallenberg Institute from Sweden. I learned from this training a lot especially human rights. I did not win that competition but I can reach until the semifinal. I work in the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is a tourist trap. Many tourists visit here and it is polluted and noisy sometime. When I go on holidays, I like to get away from it all. I prefer to go to the Arul Mountain which is the highest mountain in Cambodia. It is a very popular place for adventurous people like me. In 2018, I decided to take 2 days off work to go to the Arul Mountain to enjoy the wildlife and the breathtaking views. I went with a small tour group of 20 people from Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia and Kampong Spue Provinces Cambodia. It was Spring and the weather was wonderful. I enjoyed the hiking because I was able to revitalize my mind and body. We spent 2 days hiking to the top and half a day hiking back. We cooked dinner together and everyone really enjoyed the experience. We slept in a camper hammock and to my surprise, I had a good sleep. The most memorable moment was getting to the top of the mountain. I felt so proud of myself that I reached my destination and the views were so fantastic. I would advise anyone who wants to go on an adventure or see some breathtaking views to go to the Arul Mountain in Cambodia.. By BIN Chhunnay My name is BIN Chhunnay. I am a PEPY scholarship student (starting in 2016) and now I am PEPY’s ICT Teaching Assistant. From July 15-20, 2018 I went to Thailand after being accepted into the 3rd ASEAN Excellent Camp, a cultural exchange organized by Chao Praya University including participants from Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Thailand. The most important things that I learned from this camp were about Sustainable Development Goals, Time Management, and Networking. For the SDGs, I was especially interested in the quality of education (SDG 4) and life on land (SDG 15). They said that education is not only at school, it is wherever that we think we can learn. I also got to learn a lot about the education systems in other participants’ countries. As for life on land, I learned about the relationship between elephants and forests. The hotel where the workshop was held feeds elephants and they are protecting the forest as well. To motivate us to practice good time management, facilitators said that Earth needs us to help urgently, and finishing our tasks on time helps other people and the environment as well. I also learned about how to communicate and network with people from other countries and was very excited to learn about their cultures and histories. This workshop empowered me to be a better changemaker for my community, especially in encouraging children and youth to value education so they can learn more about the region, world, and environment. There are a few people that inspired me in this workshop-like Farah and Danish (Malaysian students) and teacher Mean Sothy (lecturer at USEA) about their life challenges. Both students from Malaysia are so brave and very creative despite being 16 years old, so they inspired me to study harder and be more creative like them. Mean Sothy is amazed by his ability to motivate us all to work hard and connect with other people. One lesson from this event that I will share with current Learning Center students is about effective leadership skills so they can be even more prepared and motivated to develop their communities and their country as well. On the 10th, June 2018, I was join the event as planting trees at Runta Aek Village, Bonteay Srey District, Siem Reap. It was so amazing because I saw a lot of people go and plant the tree. It around 3000 of trees was plant. Under the theme of event is "Our Palm tree, Our pound". On that day they separate for 7 group to plant and I am in the Green group it very interesting. We take for 30-40 minutes to finished it.
On 14th May 2018 I went to Kulen Mountain with PEPY's staff and Larry who is a supporter and contribute to PEPY and Zaya who come from Mongolia wants to visit PEPY. I was enjoy with them because I felt they are very funny and respectful.
